Branding
To succeed in branding one must understand the needs and wants of the customers and prospects. Do this by integrating the brand strategies through the company at every point of public contact. The brand resides within the hearts and minds of customers, clients, and prospects. It is the sum total of their experiences and perceptions, some of which can influence, and some that cannot. Brand management is the application of marketing techniques to a specific product, product line, or brand. It seeks to increase a product's perceived value to the customer. Marketers see a brand as an implied promise that the level of quality people have come to expect from a brand will continue with future purchases of the same product. This may increase sales by making a comparison with competing products more favorable. It may also enable the manufacturer to charge more for the product. The value of the brand is the amount of profit it generates. For the most effective branding, a memorable name, a ubiquitous slogan with an instantly recognizable and unique logo. A logo is the graphic or design by which the firm or product will come to be imagined by the customer. As in other elements of branding, simplicity can often be the best strategy. The logo can be as straightforward as a simple geometric shape or, potentially, an elaborate design of a simple idea. Branding provides marketing and brand consulting that help organizations quickly identify opportunities, develop successful products, new markets, and increase customer value. With the basic elements of the branding strategy in place, should begin to extend the branding across the marketplace. This is important because much of the strategy's effectiveness lies in its consistency. Once basic elements of the branding are ready, the next step is target of the initial branding campaign.
Casino poker chips are special tokens representing a fixed amount of money. In the gaming industry they are more generally referred to as Checks or Cheques; the difference being that a 'chip' caries no value, such as those used for roulette vs. a 'cheque' which carries a specific value and can be cashed in for money.
The vast majorities of authentic casino chips are 'clay' chips but can be more accurately described as compression molded chips. Contrary to popular belief no gaming chip going as far back as the 1950s have been 100% clay. Modern clay chips are a composition of materials more durable than clay alone. At least some percentage of the chips is of an earthen material such as sand, chalk and or clay similar to that found in cat litter. The process used to make these chips is a trade secret, very expensive, time consuming and varies slightly by manufacturer. Additionally, the edge spots or inserts, as they are sometimes called, are not painted on as they can sometimes appear to be. In fact they are areas where the clay has been punched out of the chip and then replaced by hand with a new piece of clay of an alternate color; it would then be at this point the chip is placed under extreme pressure and heat, approximately 10,000 psi 70 MPa at 300 °F 150 °C , hence the term compression molded Chips .
The printed graphics on clay chips is called an inlay. Inlays are typically made of paper and are then covered with a thin film of plastic which is applied to the chip prior to the compression molding process. During the molding process the inlay becomes permanently affixed to the chip and cannot be removed from the chip without destroying it.
Ceramic chips such as those made by ChipCo International were introduced in the mid 1980s as an alternative to clay chips and are still very common in casinos as well as being readily available to the home market. Ceramic chips are often referred to as clay or clay composite but they are in fact solid white, injection molded, ceramic disks, which are simply printed on.
Bud Jones are an alternate style of chip and are one of the very few injection molded plastic chips used in casinos. They are produced by Gaming Products International and are not produced for the home market.
The chips used in American casinos rarely weigh more than 10 grams and are usually between 8.5 and 10 g. There is no official weight however and some, particularly coin-inlaid chips, can weigh more. The chips sold for home use vary substantially more, sometimes weighing as much as 13.5 g, depending on manufacturer and construction.
Common designs for home use depict the six faces of a die or the suit symbols around the edge on the face of the chip. They are typically manufactured with injection molding technology using ABS plastic. Some chips are molded around a small metal disc, called a slug, for weight.
European chips often come in Mother of Pearl. The higher value chips are often shaped like plaques.
Colors
Typically colors found in home sets include red, white, blue and sometimes black; however, more recently a wide assortment of colors have become readily available, particularly in lower-quality ABS type chips.
$2.50 chips are almost exclusively used for blackjack tables, since a natural a 21 on the first two cards dealt to a player typically pays 3:2 and most wagers are in increments of $5. However, the Tropicana Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey has used pink chips in $7.50-$15 and $10-$20 poker games. Low-denomination yellow chips can vary in value: $20 by statute in Atlantic City and Illinois which, oddly, also uses mustard yellow $0.50 chips ; $5 at most Southern California poker rooms; $2 at Foxwoods' poker room in Ledyard, Connecticut and at Casino del Sol in Tucson, Arizona; and $0.50 at Potawatomi Casino in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Blue chips are occasionally used for $10, most notably by statute in Atlantic City. In Las Vegas and California, most casinos use blue or white for $1 chips.
Chips are commonly available in $1000 denominations, depending on the wagering limits of the casino in question. Such chips are often yellow or orange and of a large size. Las Vegas, Atlantic City, and other areas, which permit high wagers typically, have chips available in $5000, $10000, $25000, and higher denominations; the colors for these vary widely.
Each casino has a unique set of chips, even if the casino is part of a larger company. This distinguishes a casino's chips from others, since each chip and token on the gaming floor has to be backed up with the appropriate amount of cash. In addition, with the exception of Nevada, casinos are not permitted to honor another casino's chips.
The security features of casino chips are numerous. Artwork is of a very high resolution or of photographic quality. Custom color combinations on the chip edge spots are usually distinctive to a particular casino. Certain chips incorporate RFID technology, such as those at the new Wynn Casino in Las Vegas.
Counterfeit chips are rare. High levels of surveillance, along with staff familiarity with chip design and coloring, make passing fake chips difficult. Casinos, though, are prepared for this situation. According to one report, a Canadian casino removed all chips from the gaming floor and replaced them with new sets with alternative markings, which resulted in the arrest of the attempted counterfeiters.
Casino chips used in tournaments are usually much cheaper and much simpler in design. Because the chips have no cash value, usually chips are designed with a single color usually differing in shade or tone from the version on the casino floor, a smaller diameter, and a basic mark on the interior to distinguish denominations; however, at certain events such as the World Series of Poker or other televised poker , chips approach quality levels of chips on the floor.
Poker Chinese
Chinese 13 Card Poker
Chinese Poker is played with a standard 52-card
deck. Up to four players can play.
Each poker player receives 13 cards, face down, one at a time, in rotation. A hand is
dealt to all four positions even if vacant. The hand must be arranged with three
cards in front, five cards in the middle, and five cards in the back, where the
back hand should rank higher or equal to the middle hand, and the middle hand
should rank higher than the front hand. Standard poker rankings apply. Straights
and flushes do not count in the front hand except in the event of an automatic
win.
Scores are kept by points. Each part of the hand is assigned one point. Each
point is given a monetary value for each game.
Hands are then compared with each player, one at a time. The poker player with the
higher ranking hand in the front segment wins one point. The player with the
higher ranking middle hand wins one point. The player with the higher ranking
back hand wins one point.
If two out of three of the players' hands ranks higher than an opponent's hand,
the first player wins two points. For example, the player would win two points,
minus one point (the one an opponent won) plus one point for a majority of
segments win, thereby, winning two points total.
If all three parts of the player's hand ranks higher than the opponent's hand,
the winner gets four points. (The player wins three points (net win), one point
for winning each of the three hands minus zero points (the opponent didn't win
any) plus one point for the majority of hands won, totaling four points.)
Automatic Win
There are also hands known as an "automatic win" and the player may declare the win by placing the stack of cards down on the table. However, the player must declare the automatic win before the hands are opened, otherwise the hands will play the way the player sets. The automatic win hands are as follows:
- The Dragon Hand: Ace through King of any suit. This hand beats all other automatic win hands.
- Any 13-card hand that has six pairs. Note that four-of-a-kind can be counted as two pairs.
- Any 13-card hand that has suited cards in all three parts.
- Any 13-card hand that has straights in all three parts.
A Straight Flush can be used as a Straight or a Flush for bonus hands.
Improperly Set Hands
A hand is set improperly if: Any part of the three segment hands has the wrong number of cards; or, any part of the three segment hands are set out of ranking order. Any player that sets his or her hand improperly must pay four points to all of the other players.
Eastern, Western and Mandarin Bonus Points Variations
Eastern Version point awarding Variation: The play of
the poker game is the same as 13 Card Poker. In addition to the basic point system as
in 13 Card Poker, bonus systems of awarding points is used for making certain
hands in the front, middle and back positions. In addition to the basic point
system, points can be earned on bonus hands as follows: (a) Bonus point hands in
the back: (1) straight flush-five (5) points; (2) Four of a kind- four (4)
points. (b) Bonus point hand in the middle: (1) straight flush - then (10)
points; (2) Four of a kind - eight (8) points; (3) Full house - two (2) points.
(c) Bonus point hands in the front: (1) Three of a kind - three (3) points. If a
player wins two out of three hands, the player is awarded two points for their
winning hands and loses one point to his opponent for a total of one point from
that opponent. When a bonus hand is involved, the winning hand earns only the
bonus hand points.
Western Version point awarding Variation: The play of the poker game is the
same as 13 Card Poker. In addition to the basic point system, this point system
awards one additional point to the poker player who wins the majority of hands. If a
player beats his opponent two out of three hands, they receive a total of two
points for their winning hands.
Mandarin Version point awarding Variation: The play of the game is the
same as 13 Card Poker with opportunities to earn extra points. A player earns
one point for each winning hand as in 13 Card Poker. Three of a kind in the
front hand triples the point value. A bonus can be received which awards
additional points for making certain hands in the front, middle and back
positions. If a bonus hand is present, the points for that bonus hand are then
added on. Two special bonus situations can occur, the "shot" and the "home run."
A "shot" situation occurs when a player wins all three hands against an
opponent. The regular point value for each hand is doubles and added to the
total. A "home run" situation occurs, only in a four-handed game, when a player
wins all three hands on the showdown against all three of their opponents. The
regular point value for each hand is tripled and added to the total.

Poker Blinds
A blind or blind bet is a forced bet placed into the pot by one or more players before the deal begins, in a way that simulates bets made during play. The most common use of blinds as a betting structure calls for two blinds: the player after the dealer blinds about half of what would be a normal bet, and the next player blinds what would be a whole bet. This two-blind structure, sometimes with antes, is the dominating structure of play for community card poker games such as Texas hold-em. Sometimes only one blind is used often informally as a "price of winning" the previous hand, and sometimes three are used this is sometimes seen in Omaha. In the case of three blinds usually one quarter, one quarter, and half a normal bet amount, the first blind goes "on the button", that is, is paid by the dealer.
For example, in a $2–4 limit game, the first player to the dealer's left who, if not for the blinds, would be the first to act posts a small blind of $1, and the next player in turn posts a big blind of $2. After the cards are dealt, play begins with the next player in turn third from the dealer, who must either call $2, raise, or fold. When the betting returns to the player who blinded $1, he must equal the bet facing him toward which he may count his $1, raise, or fold. If there have been no raises when action first gets to the big blind that is, the bet amount facing him is just the amount of the big blind he posted, the big blind has the ability to raise or check. This right to raise called the option occurs only once: if his raise is now called by every player, the first betting round closes as usual.
Similarly to a missed ante, a missed blind due to the player's temporary absence i.e. for drinks or a restroom break can be denoted by use of a special button. Upon the player's return, they must pay the applicable blind to the pot for the next hand they will participate in. The need for this rule is eliminated in casinos that deal in absent players as described above. Also the rule is for temporary absences only; if a player leaves the table permanently, special rules govern the assigning of blinds and button see next subsection.
In some fixed-limit and spread-limit games, especially if three blinds are used, the big blind amount may be less than the normal betting minimum. Players acting after a sub-minimum blind have the right to call the blind as it is, even though it is less than the amount they would be required to bet, or they may raise the amount needed to bring the current bet up to the normal minimum, called completing the bet. For example, a limit game with a $5 minimum bet on the first round might have blinds of $1 and $2. Players acting after the blind may either call the $2, or raise to $5. After the bet is raised to $5, the next raise must be to $10 in accordance with the normal limits.
